What do I need to bring to class?
You will want to wear clothes that you will be comfortable exercising in and shoes that have good support but minimal tread. Bring a towel, and lots of water. For Strength and Balance classes you will need to bring your own mat, the exception is Tai Chi. Yoga socks, with little sticky dots on the soles are sometimes enjoyed in Barre, Piloxing and Tai Chi…no bare feet at Rhythms. Thanks!
How many calories can I burn during a Zumba class?
The number of calories each person burns per class varies. However, depending on your body parameters (type, composition, intensity, range of motion…age), you can burn hundreds of calories per class. Add a jingle skirt to your Zumba dancing and you burn even more! It has something to do with the more you feel your hips, the more you move them!
I haven’t exercised in a long time; will I be able to Zumba?
Yes! Our Zumba is designed so that anyone can do it. There are many modifications so that any age or fitness level can participate. At Rhythms we make it easy for you to see where to start. Check out our low, medium and high intensity levels of our classes.
Can I go right into R.I.P.P.E.D., Piloxing or the other Strength and Balance classes?
Perhaps. Come and watch a class or try one out before committing! And talk it over with the gals at Rhythms’ front desk.
